Charles Wesley Godwin has teamed up with fellow country-folk prodigy, Wyatt Flores, for a special rendition of Chris Knight's classic hit single, ‘The Jealous Kind’.
A solo cut of the song appeared on Wesley Godwin's acclaimed 2023 Live from the Church EP, along with a much-loved cover of Zach Bryan's 2020 track, ‘Crooked Teeth’.
The addition of Wyatt Flores into the mix adds a new sense of buoyancy to the track, while Charles Wesley Godwin's distinctive, weighty vocals bring the gravitas to balance out this levity.
The video of the two up-and-coming artists performing the Chris Knight staple was recorded ahead of their performance in Spokane, Washington, with Wyatt Flores having supported Charles Wesley Godwin on a number of his July 2023 tour-dates.
Wesley Godwin is clearly a big admirer of Chris Knight, and it remains to be seen whether a studio version of his ‘The Jealous Kind’ cover will make its way onto the West Virginia crooner's new album.
The hotly anticipated project, which is expected to be called ‘Family Ties’, is also set to feature a range of recently teased songs, including ‘Christian Name’, ‘West of Lonesome’, ‘The Flood’ and ‘Dance in Rain’.
In addition, Charles Wesley Godwin confirmed in his recent ‘Live at Stage AE’ mini-documentary that another unreleased fan-favourite, ‘All Again’, would be included on Family Ties, as well as revealing the new project has already been recorded.
