After releasing a new cover of Chris Knight's classic track, ‘The Jealous Kind’, country-folk prodigy Charles Wesley Godwin revealed that the song would appear on an upcoming EP.

Today, Wesley Godwin released the new project, entitled Live from the Church, which features five live recordings captured in The Church studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Live from the Church includes revamped versions ‘Lyin’ Low’, ‘Jesse’ and ‘Temporary Town’, all of which appeared on Charles’ stellar 2021 album, How The Mighty Fall.

Last year, fans were given a taste of what a live version of ‘Jesse’ might sound like during Charles Wesley Godwin's appearance in Zach Bryan's Belting Bronco video series.

The new live rendition of the haunting, ethereal ‘Temporary Town’ adds a heightened sense of vulnerability, while the West Virginia songsmith injects a rawer, rugged sense of energy into the comparatively uptempo anthem, ‘Lyin’ Low’.

Live from the Church also features a cover of Zach Bryan's 2020 song, ‘Crooked Teeth’.

Sparks seem to fly whenever Charles and Zach team up, as was highlighted on their performances of ‘Jamie’ and ‘Country Roads’ on Zach's Christmas Day live album, All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster (Live From Red Rocks).

Charles Wesley Godwin's Live from the Church acts as a welcome aperitif ahead of his hotly anticipated third album, which is expected to be released later in 2023.
