Charles Wesley Godwin is fuelling fans’ sense of anticipation ahead of his eagerly awaited third album, with the West Virginia songsmith having teased a brand new track on Saturday.
The highly regarded folk-country artist confirmed last week that he'd started work on the new project, and this latest snippet, entitled ‘All Again’, is expected to feature on the track-list.
In the optimistic, uptempo teaser, Charles Wesley Godwin puts a fresh twist on one of his trademark themes of nostalgia. Instead of wallowing in the ‘what if’s and the ‘could've been’s, Wesley Godwin celebrates the way everything has turned out for him.
He keeps it short and sweet, with the clip revolving around Wesley Godwin's euphoric, titular declaration, “I'd do it all again”.
The new snippet follows a couple of song teasers from the rising star, including the beautifully tender ‘Dance in Rain’, written for his daughter, and a mournful, drawn-in ballad, ‘West of Lonesome’.
In the comments section of his latest series of studio shots, Wesley Godwin's wife, Samantha, wrote that the new record is “By far my favourite project of yours”. Excitingly, this suggests that the entire album has already been written - hopefully, all that's left now is to hone the recordings.
We're still waiting on a release date, but fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that it's confirmed in the coming weeks.
