After finishing 2022 as one of MusicRow's Top Ten Songwriters of the Year, Zach Bryan has extended his dominance over the chart by securing his 15th week at No. 1 on MusicRow's weekly Top Songwriter ranking.
The list utilises a special algorithm, which factors in streams, digital downloads and radio airplay, in order to determine the best performing songs and writers each week.
Zach Bryan currently has five songs on the chart, each of which credits him as the sole writer. ‘Burn, Burn, Burn’ - which has inspired Bryan's 2023 low-cost tour of the same name - is one of the five charting tracks, along with ‘The Good I'll Do’, ‘Sun To Me’ and ‘Oklahoma Smokeshow’.
The quintet is completed by Bryan's monster hit, ‘Something in the Orange’, which has retained its position at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country chart.
The wistful anthem has also been nominated for the 2023 Grammy award for Best Country Solo Performance.
Zach Bryan is currently readying his hotly anticipated new single, ‘Dawns’, which features Maggie Rogers.
The uptempo song will be released on Friday, January 27, and is widely expected to appear on Bryan's upcoming album, Writers and Fighters.
Ashley Gorley remains at No. 2 on MusicRow's Top Songwriter Chart, while Morgan Wallen holds onto the No. 3 spot, due to the continued success of co-written songs such as ‘One Thing At A Time’, ‘Wasted On You’, ‘Thought You Should Know’ and the record-breaking ‘You Proof’.
The Sneedville star has also racked up some additional MusicRow points from Corey Kent's ‘Wild As Her’ and Keith Urban's ‘Brown Eyes Baby’, both of which Wallen is credited on as a songwriter.
Although Morgan Wallen has seven entries compared to Zach Bryan's five, the fact that Bryan is the sole credited writer on all of his tracks means the MusicRow algorithm awards him more points than Wallen.
Completing this week's Top Five on MusicRow's Songwriter Chart is Ernest at No. 4, who is gearing up to release a deluxe version of his 2022 Flower Shops project, entitled Two Dozen Roses, followed by Luke Combs at No. 5, who also has a new album on the way.
