After months of snippets, teasers and covers, Colter Wall has at long last confirmed that he'll be treating fans to a brand new album, Little Songs, on July 14.
The hotly anticipated project will serve as the follow-up to Wall's acclaimed 2020 offering, Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs, and will mark the traditional-leaning singer-songwriter's first release since his double-pack of singles in September.
The Saskatchewan native has already released the lead single from the new record, a swinging, romantic rendition of Hoyt Axton's classic love-song, ‘Evangelina’.
Little Songs is also due to feature ‘The Last Loving Words’, an original song that Colter Wall first shared back in February. It was accompanied by a sparse video of Wall performing the bittersweet ballad in the oldest restaurant in Denver, Colorado, The Buckhorn Exchange.
In addition, Colter Wall's new record will feature a cover of Ian Tyson's ‘The Coyote and The Cowboy’, a nostalgic, melancholic rumination on the unique way of life of a cowboy.
Little Songs will also include songs such as ‘Standing Here’, ‘Coralling the Blues’ and ‘Honky Tonk Nighthawk’. Wall has performed the latter during a number of recent shows, and fans are undoubtedly excited to finally be receiving an official studio version of the track.
