Colter Wall has shared another track from his upcoming album, Little Songs. The traditional-leaning crooner has released ‘For A Long While’, a sweet, laid-back ode to the small, unassuming pleasures of life.

The new song once again seems to confirm expectations that Colter will be staying true to his classic country sound on Little Songs, with other singles from the project also treading down the Saskatchewan native's favoured path through the plains and prairies.

Although largely sticking to Colter Wall's sonic blueprint, ‘For A Long While’ explores a more upbeat, optimistic tone, with the celebrated singer-songwriter showcasing the happier moments in a ranch-hand's life. It serves as a direct counterpart to the tough times and heartbreak of his previous release, ‘Corralling The Blues’.

‘For A Long While’ once again highlights Colter's vocal evolution, with the Canadian cowboy leaning into the gravelly, weather-beaten rasp that he has introduced into recent material.

The new song has heightened the sense of anticipation ahead of Little Songs, which will be made available on July 14, and will also feature the already released Hoyt Axton cover, ‘Evangelina’, along with the previously teased ‘The Last Loving Words’.

Little Songs will be the first full-length project from Colter Wall since his critically acclaimed 2020 record, Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs, with listeners having to make do with a smattering of stellar singles in the mean-time.
