Lainey Wilson remains one of the most exciting new stars in country music - and her 2023 ACM Awards performance has undoubtedly solidified her position in the genre's upper echelons.
The Louisiana native delivered a fun, lively rendition of her raunchy anthem, ‘Grease’, which originally appeared on Lainey's much-loved 2022 album, Bell Bottom Country.
In the days leading up to the 2023 ACM Awards, Lainey Wilson dropped the vibrant visuals for ‘Grease’, causing many to speculate that the song would be sent to Country Radio in the coming weeks, despite the talk around town being that ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ would be fulfilling this duty.
Lainey took the stage with her trademark charisma and flair, following a stirring collaborative set with Jelly Roll for their new joint song, ‘Save Me’. The ‘Heart Like A Truck’ hitmaker flew into Frisco, Texas for the ACM Awards ceremony off the back of a blockbuster run of shows supporting Luke Combs on his 2023 world tour.
The performance platform's small outer edges struggled to contain Lainey's bustling energy as she danced across the stage, serenading the eager crowd with the steamy lyrics to ‘Grease’ (“Good God Almighty / Boy, you got me / Begging like a ol' hound dog / Buttered up and rolling / Like a skillet smoking up a kitchen down in Arkansas”).

Ahead of the ceremony, Lainey Wilson picked up the 2023 ACM Award for Visual Media of the Year for her electric collaboration with HARDY, ‘wait in the truck’, which also earned the duo the 2023 CMT Award for Collaborative Video of the Year in April.
Elsewhere in the evening, Lainey earned the accolade for 2023 ACM Album of the Year for Bell Bottom Country, as well as the award for 2023 Female Artist of the Year.
