Shortly after being named the inaugural Artist-Songwriter of the Year winner, HARDY notched another victory for Visual Media of the Year at the 58th Annual ACM Awards.
The award celebrates the music video for his most recent No. 1 single, 'wait in the truck,' alongside partner in crime Lainey Wilson.
Diving into the heavy topic of domestic abuse, the song and video follow the protagonist as he discovers a woman standing in the middle of the road. After seeing her injuries, he drives to her abuser's house, knocks down the door and pulls the trigger.
The chilling tune, which took home the Collaborative Video of the Year award at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, beat out fellow nominees 'HEARTFIRST' (Kelsea Ballerini), 'She Had Me At Heads Carolina' (Cole Swindell), 'Thank God' (Kane & Katelyn Brown), ''Til You Can't' (Cody Johnson) and 'What He Didn't Do' (Carly Pearce).
'wait in the truck' is nominated across a handful of categories at this year's ACM Awards, including Music Event and Song of the Year, while Hardy has now won two of his seven possible trophies for the 2023 ceremony.
Hosted by Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks, the 58th Annual ACM Awards will air live from Frisco, Texas tomorrow night (May 11), and will be streamed live on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.
