The 2024 CMT Music Awards returned to Austin's Moody Center on Sunday, April 7th, with viewers witnessing another plethora of stellar performances a big wins in Texas.

Kelsea Ballerini hosted for the fourth consecutive year, but confirmed shortly before the ceremony launched that this would mark the last time she'll be taking the helm for the CMTs.

Over the course of the star-studded event, Jelly Roll took home the biggest gong of the evening, CMT Video of the Year, for his evocative visuals for ‘Need A Favor’, with Jelly also winning CMT Performance of the Year and CMT Male Video of the Year.

Lainey Wilson triumphed in the CMT Female Video of the Year category with her laidback, summery chart-topper, ‘Watermelon Moonshine’, while Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton shared the spoils in the CMT Collaborative Video of the Year category for their atmospheric music video for ‘We Don't Fight Anymore’.

Ashley Cooke earned her first ever CMT award for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year in honour of her much-loved track, ‘your place’, and Warren Zeiders also made his debut in the CMT winners circle on April 7, earning the accolade for CMT Breakthrough Male Video of the Year for his fiery anthem, ‘Pretty Little Poison’.

Completing the 2024 roster of winners was Scotty McCreery, who picked up the award for CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year for ‘It Matters To Her’, performed during his appearance on CMT Stages, and Dan + Shay, with the popular duo being crowned the victors in the CMT Duo-Group Video of the Year category for their infectious, harmony-laden 2023 song, ‘Save Me The Trouble’.

In addition to accumulating three CMT awards for the second consecutive year, Jelly Roll delivered a spine-tingling finale to the ceremony with his performance of ‘Halfway To Hell’. The uptempo track is currently surging up the Country Radio charts.

Kelsea Ballerini treated the Austin crowd to an enchanting rendition of her revamped rendition of ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’, as well as taking the stage with Melissa Etheridge for ’Come To My Window’. Lainey Wilson paid tribute to the genre's explosion in popularity with a high-energy performance of ‘Country's Cool Again’, while Little Big Town and Sugarland united for a cover of Phil Collins’ ‘Take Me Home’.

In one of the most special moments of the evening, a slew of country greats teamed up to honour the late Toby Keith, with Brooks & Dunn performing ‘Should've Been A Cowboy’ and Lainey Wilson covering ‘How Do You Like Me Now’.

Elsewhere in the evening, longtime country favorite Trisha Yearwood received the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award. The all-new honor recognizes a veteran artist, who throughout their career has emulated the award's namesake and used their influence to inspire and uplift others. The esteemed and well-deserved accolade was accompanied by a stellar performance from Yearwood, who debut her new track, 'Put It In A Song', from her forthcoming album.
