The most coveted prize of the 2023 CMT Awards went to Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown, for their heartwarming, gratitude-filled tribute to their relationship, ‘Thank God’.

The husband-and-wife duo took home the 2023 CMT Video of the Year gong for the chart-topping single.

Kane spent much of the evening co-hosting alongside fellow country star, Kelsea Ballerini, adopting his trademark sense of relaxed charisma as he helped to keep the ceremony rolling smoothly.

Before accepting their award, Kane and Katelyn Brown prepared for their Video of the Year win with a moving performance of ‘Thank God’, which appears on Kane's 2022 album, Different Man.

The powerful track hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay Chart in February, and is consolidating its status as one of Kane Brown's most loved hits to date.

It marks the first time a husband-and-wife team have won the CMT Video of the Year award, and it also serves as a debut win in the category for both Kane and Katelyn Brown.

It's safe to say many were rooting for the pair to end up victorious, with Kane and Katelyn having gone viral with their adorable, romantic live renditions of ‘Thank God’ out on tour this year.

A sense of genuine, heartfelt love and contentment underpins the slow-burning track, and it's the fact that the music video captures this level of intimacy and authenticity that has no doubt contributed to ‘Thank God’s triumph as CMT's 2023 Video of the Year.

In their joint acceptance speech, the two shared their love and appreciation for one another, with Katelyn underlining, “I just want to say thank you so much to my amazing husband, I love you. This is so special that we get to share this together every night”.

Kane echoed his wife's sentiments, before thanking the fans that voted, Sony and his manager, Martha, as well as bringing up the ‘Thank God’ director, Alex Alvga, for an emotional shout-out.
