Megan Moroney has shared a clip of a brand new unreleased song, ‘No Caller ID’, causing fans to speculate as to whether she could be readying a deluxe version of her 2023 album, Lucky.
The peaceful, melancholic track follows in similarly vulnerable footsteps to one of the many Lucky stand-outs, ‘Girl in the Mirror’, with Megan Moroney opening the newly teased song by outlining how she's been going through therapy in order to get over her ex.
However, when she gets a mysterious 3am call from a withheld number - presumably her ex-boyfriend - it sends her back down a rabbit-hole of self-doubt and temptation.
The lyrics seamlessly transition from the relief and serenity of the opening verse, to the frustration and angst of the hook, as the Georgia prodigy questions her ex-boyfriend's intentions (“When I'm movin’ on / You move back in / With a half-ass sorry, ‘how you been?’ / Why do you do it? / Do you just hate losing?”).
Although the attention of Megan Moroney and her team will be firmly fixated on the chart progression of her new Country Radio single, ‘I'm Not Pretty’, this latest snippet has sparked speculation regarding an upcoming extended release of Lucky.
Should the ‘Tennessee Orange’ hitmaker decide to drop a deluxe version of Lucky, we hope ‘No Caller ID’ will make its way onto the tracklist, along with the newly released acoustic version of Moroney's fan-favourite anthem, ’I'm Not Pretty’.
