Shortly after confirming ‘I'm Not Pretty’ would be her next Country Radio single, Megan Moroney announced she'll be releasing an acoustic version of the fun, uptempo track this Friday, July 28.
The stripped-back rendition will undoubtedly help to give the fan-favourite song an additional boost of momentum as it begins its journey up the Country Radio charts on August 7.
The full-production version of ‘I'm Not Pretty’ is an infectious, light-hearted brush-off to Moroney's ex-boyfriend's new partner, and is packed with witty punchlines and tongue-in-cheek jibes.
Moroney's playful, conversational vocals coast along the energising instrumental, creating an unmistakable ambience of confidence and swagger. With this new acoustic rendition of ‘I'm Not Pretty’, it'll be interesting to see whether the subtle vulnerability that underpins certain lyrics will be brought to the fore.
‘I'm Not Pretty’ featured on the Georgia native's widely acclaimed debut album, Lucky, which was released back in May, and also includes her break-out No.1 single, ‘Tennessee Orange’.
Although we imagine Megan Moroney and her team will send another song or two to Country Radio before she concludes her Lucky era, it seems she's already got one eye on her next project.
Moroney took to Twitter this week to tease a brand new track, sharing that she “wrote one of the best songs i’ve ever written the other day (in my opinion lol) & i can’t stop listening to it”.
It remains to be seen how long it'll be before fans get to hear this demo, but Moroney has a history of dropping snippets on her socials before the song is officially made available, so hopefully we'll get a clip of this unreleased offering in the weeks to come.
