Luke Combs may have just dropped a brand new album, but his 2021 project, Growin’ Up, is still earning him a slew of accolades.
The latest is Country Album of the Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The North Carolina hitmaker released the record in November 2021, and Growin’ Up has spawned a variety of fan-favourites, including ‘Doin’ This’, ‘The Kind Of Love We Make’ and ‘Going, Going, Gone’.
The latter recently became Luke Combs’ 15th consecutive No. 1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, and has proven to be a much-loved inclusion in his 2023 world tour setlist.
The news coincides with the start of Luke Combs’ blockbuster run of shows, which kicked off in Arlington, Texas, with support from Riley Green, Lainey Wilson and more.
Judging by the way Luke Combs’ new album, Gettin’ Old, is being received, it seems the country megastar could be on on track for another Country Album of the Year award this time next year.
Other winners from the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards’ country contingent were Cody Johnson, who took home the accolade for Best New Country Artist, while Morgan Wallen was crowned Country Artist of the Year. Cole Swindell's electrifying ‘She Had Me At Heads Carolina’ triumphed in the category for Country Song of the Year.
