Morgan Wallen took home the coveted Country Artist of the Year award at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards, in what continues to be a hugely successful year for the Sneedville megastar.
During the ceremony, which was held at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre, Wallen took the crown in a hotly contested category that featured Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown and Luke Combs.
Morgan Wallen thanked iHeartRadio and his loyal fanbase in a video message recorded from Australia, where the ‘Sand in My Boots’ hitmaker has been touring over the past couple of weeks.
He called it an “honour and a privilege” to be named the iHeartRadio Country Artist of the Year.
Wallen's triumph is the latest in a seemingly endless line of recent accolades and achievements, with the country star's new album, One Thing At A Time, taking the top spot on the Billboard 200 shortly after its release.
Morgan Wallen also recently broke a Billboard Hot 100 record set by Drake and a streaming record set by Taylor Swift, as he consolidates his status as one of the biggest artists of today's generation.
While Wallen undoubtedly enjoyed his evening, the iHeartRadio Music Awards ceremony was also a satisfying occasion for both Cody Johnson, Luke Combs and Cole Swindell.
Johnson received the 2023 Best New Country Artist award, while Combs took the gong for Best Country Album, for 2022's Growin’ Up. Cole Swindell was also victorious in the category for Country Song of the Year, for his feel-good anthem, ‘She Had Me At Heads Carolina’.
