Speaking to Holler during The Long Road Festival 2023, Megan Moroney discussed her favourite spots in Nashville, how she starts her day, her go-to country album and more.
When asked about her dream collaboration, the ‘Tennessee Orange’ hitmaker didn't hesitate to choose an artist she regularly cites as a huge influence on her sound and storytelling - Taylor Swift.
Earlier in the day, Moroney covered Taylor Swift's iconic track, ‘Picture to Burn’, during her celebrated Rhinestone Stage performance, which also featured special renditions of Lucky fan-favourites, such as ‘Sleep On My Side’, ‘Why Johnny’ and ‘Girl in the Mirror’.
Moroney also serenaded the packed-out crowd with her current Country Radio single, ‘I'm Not Pretty’, before closing her set with her break-out football-themed hit, ‘Tennessee Orange’.
During her second set of The Long Road Festival 2023 at Buddy's Good-Time Bar, Megan Moroney performed a brand new unreleased track, ‘Nothing Crazy’, in addition to the previously teased ‘No Caller ID’. Both are expected to feature on the Georgia native's Lucky follow-up.
We'll be keeping our fingers crossed that Megan Moroney gets her wish and one day records a duet with Taylor Swift, with the country prodigy's intricate, playful lyricism and ear for a killer hook sure to combine perfectly with Taylor's unrivalled songwriting ability.
