As the excitement continues to build ahead of her forthcoming album, Dandelion, Ella Langley has performed an unreleased track from the project, titled, ‘Lovin’ Life Again’.
It finds the Alabama native candidly reflecting on the challenging period last year, when Langley decided to take some time away from the road to focus on her mental wellbeing.
Last August, in the midst of a high-profile run of shows with Morgan Wallen, Langley announced, “I’m so sad to be posting this. The past several weeks have been tough. I’ve been fighting sickness and feeling more run down that ever. After a lot of thought, I’ve made the hard decision to take a couple of weeks to rest and focus on my health - mind, body, and heart...I want to be fully present for all the moments ahead, and I know I can’t do that without first taking care of myself. Sometimes we have to listen when our bodies and hearts are telling us to slow down”.
Langley ended by citing a Bible verse that outlines how Jesus provides respite, “I’m so grateful for your understanding and your love - it truly means the world to me. ‘Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’ Matthew 11:28”.
The new song touches on that period, during which Langley had to rediscover her passion for music after a gruelling, non-stop few years of being out on the road for months on end.
Introducing ‘Lovin’ Life Again’, the ‘Choosin’ Texas’ hitmaker confides, “I've been playing shows almost every weekend since I was 18... I've played this venue a couple times now. I played it first here with Koe Wetzel, I played it with Jon Pardi before, and tonight I'm [headlining]...It still feels weird, it feels like someone's coming on after me and y'all are just waiting for that person to come on. But no, this is it...I'm so grateful to be in this position tonight, and get to play these songs and get to watch y'all sing them back to me, and literally live out my dreams”.
Langley goes on, “This next song I'm about to play is on the [new] record, and it's probably one of the most sentimental. I went through a time and a half last year, where I took a couple weeks off, and I got to re-find myself. I got to have a lot of talks with the Lord, and I got to be re-grateful for all the things that He's given me”.
Langley had previously debuted ‘Lovin’ Life Again’, which she has confirmed will be on Dandelion, alongside ERNEST at The Ryman in Nashville. The duo co-wrote the track.
After setting the tone with a dramatic, incisive electric guitar, Langley steps up to the mic to look back at the low-points she's experienced in recent months, before jubilantly declaring that, after spending some time with God by herself, she is “lovin’ life again”.
It's a joyful and defiant battle-cry for all those who have felt burnt-out and jaded, even if they're striving towards something they've always dreamed of - as Langley herself is.
Over the past couple of years, the ‘you look like you love me’ singer-songwriter has established herself as one of the biggest names in the modern country music space, with her sophomore album, Dandelion, already shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated records of 2026. The project, which has been co-produced by Langley alongside Miranda Lambert and Ben West, arrives on April 10th.
