Charles Wesley Godwin has graced us with another stellar song teaser from his upcoming album.
It's safe to say the level of anticipation is hitting an all-time high ahead of his How The Mighty Fall follow-up.
The new snippet is of a song entitled ‘Gabriel’, and it finds the West Virginia crooner touchingly paying tribute to the serenity he finds whenever he thinks of Gabriel (“My heart is on display / It changes my whole game / Just to speak your name”).
While Wesley Godwin could well be referring to a good friend, the lyrical themes of inner peace and newfound tranquility seem to suggest he's singing about the Angel Gabriel.
It's another gentle, stripped-back ode with the sinuous strum of an acoustic guitar floating along in the background.
Wesley Godwin's distinctive, weatherworn vocals drift in and out as the song unfolds, making this another eye-catching offering from the singer-songwriter.
The latest teaser comes shortly after the news that Charles Wesley Godwin has signed a record deal with Big Loud.
As part of the exciting announcement, the country-folk prodigy hinted that his eagerly awaited album would be on the way soon, writing, “I’m so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to share the new music with y’all!”
The upcoming project is yet to have been given a release date or tracklist, but Wesley Godwin has teased a slew of tracks in the past few months, all of which are expected to feature on the record.
These include ‘The Flood’, ‘All Again’ and ‘Dance in Rain’, a heartfelt ballad written for his daughter.
The quality of these teasers and Wesley Godwin's recent projects has ensured fans’ expectations for the new album are through the roof.
Charles Wesley Godwin's previous album, How The Mighty Fall, was unanimously celebrated by fans and critics alike, and his recent Live from the Church EP also drew praise across the board.
