Bailey Zimmerman's rise to prominence over the past six months has been meteoric, and he gave his brand new album the perfect launch up the charts with an explosive 2023 ACM Awards performance. He was introduced as 2023 Amazon Breakthrough Artist.

At Thursday night's ceremony, the Illinois native delivered a fiery, simmering rendition of his No. 1 single, ‘Rock and A Hard Place’, which features on his new record, Religiously.

The Double-Platinum-certified track was originally released in October 2022 as part of his acclaimed Leave The Light On EP, which also spawned another of Zimmerman's No. 1 hits, ‘Fall in Love’.

Bailey Zimmerman received an extra boost of momentum heading into the 2023 ACM Awards, after he picked up his first ever nomination for New Male Artist of the Year, which ultimately went to Zach Bryan.

Nonetheless, when rising star Bailey Zimmerman took the circular ACM satellite stage alongside his backing band, he seemed unperturbed by this loss, as he performed his heartbroken ballad with a sense of swagger and confidence.

It was plain to see that Zimmerman's live stage presence has been strengthened in recent months, as a result of the singer-songwriter having been performing in front of arena-sized crowds while supporting Morgan Wallen on his 2023 One Night At A Time world tour.

Zimmerman's fellow tour-mate, HARDY, has enjoyed a successful 2023 ACM Awards season, with the country-rock maverick picking up the gongs for Artist-Songwriter of the Year and Visual Media of the Year, the latter for his Lainey Wilson collaboration, ‘wait in the truck’.

Although Bailey Zimmerman was unsuccessful in his category, his performance left no doubt in viewers’ minds that this won't be the last time the ‘Get To Gettin’ Gone’ songsmith receives an ACM nod.
