One of the most influential rappers of the 21st century, Drake has amassed an arsenal of hits that few can rival, from ‘God's Plan’ and ‘Hotline Bling’ to ’Headlines and ‘One Dance’.
After getting his start as part of Lil Wayne's formative Young Money crew, Drake emerged as a pioneer of a new R&B-infused and emotionally vulnerable form of rap in the 2010's.
He would go on to cement himself as one of the defining artists of his generation and a global powerhouse, continuing his rap dominance while flirting with other genres such as dancehall, house, Afrobeats and - most recently - country music.
In 2026, Drake's love affair with country came to a head. After multiple link-ups with Morgan Wallen and name-checks for legends like Shania Twain and George Strait, Drake started teasing a remix of Ella Langley's record-breaking hit, ‘Choosin’ Texas’. In September 2026, he debuted the full version, which features Don Toliver, leaving fans wondering if his rumoured FOMO album is a country-inspired project.
Why Drake Forfeiting His ‘Solar Eclipse’ Publishing Rights to Ella Langley and Her Co-Writers is a Big Deal
According to one of Drake's allies, DJ Akademiks, Drake and Don Toliver have forfeited all publishing rights to ‘Solar Eclipse’, which serves as their remix of Ella Langley's ‘Choosin’ Texas’.
Why Drake Removing Ella Langley From His ‘FOMO’ Film Could Be a Good Sign
Drake has removed some footage of Ella Langley from his high-profile ’Fear Of Missing Out’ short film, with some fans expressing concerns that this means his ‘Choosin‘ Texas’ remix with Don Toliver may never be released. We argue it might well mean the opposite.
