The first ever People's Choice Country Awards is set to take place on September 28, 2023 at the Opry, House in Nashville, Tenessee, with the genre's brightest array of stars due to descend on the iconic venue to battle it out for a plethora of coveted accolades.

The People's Choice Country Awards is setting itself apart from its competitors with a few exciting, left-field categories, such as ‘The Social Country Star of 2023’ and ‘The Crossover Song of 2023’.

The debut instalment will be hosted by Little Big Town, who have also been confirmed as one of the evening's performers, with more set to be revealed in the coming weeks. In addition, Toby Keith has already been announced as the recipient of the 2023 Country Icon award, which will be presented by Blake Shelton.

Also set to perform on September 28 is HARDY, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, Dan + Shay and Kane Brown. They'll be joined by Toby Keith, Wynonna Judd and Blake Shelton.

The full roster of 2023 nominees are now in, with the People's Choice Country Awards candidates not raising too many eyebrows. Unsurprisingly, following the record-breaking success of his new album, One Thing At A Time, and one of its lead singles, ‘Last Night’, Morgan Wallen is the leading nominee with 11 nods, while Wallen's current Billboard Hot 100 rival, Luke Combs, follows with eight nominations.

Lainey Wilson earns the status of being the female artist with the most nominations, with the ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ songsmith having received seven nods this year.

Zach Bryan has notched a handful of nominations, with the ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker up for Concert Tour of 2023, Crossover Song of 2023, People's Artist of 2023, Male Artist of 2023 and New Artist of 2023. It'll be interesting to see whether Zach attends in September, with the Oklahoma prodigy having a somewhat hot-and-cold relationship with country music awards shows.

Tyler Childers’ heartbreaking video for his new single, ‘In Your Love’, is up for Music Video of 2023, despite the fact that it was only released towards the end of July.

This unquestionably gives the People's Choice Country Awards an additional sense of relevancy, facilitated by the fact that the eligibility period stretched from August 12, 2022 to August 11, 2023.
