The 2021 Americana Music Awards took place last night at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, marking the first time the ceremony was held in person since it went on hiatus in 2020.

Brandi Carlile won Artist of the Year, an honor that wasn't lost on her considering the year it had been.

"To be Artist of the Year in the one like we've all had, I think it's profound, and I don't take this for granted because it was hard to be an artist this year", she said.

Sturgill Simpson's bluegrass album Cuttin' Grass - Vol. 1 won Album of the Year, and Charley Crockett took home Emerging Artist of the Year. See the full list below.

The late John Prine won Song of the Year for 'I Remember Everything'. His wife Fiona and three sons accepted on his behalf. "I don't think I was ever in this building without John", she said. "But I think he's here."

Carlile, Margo Price and Amanda Shires all delivered a tribute performance of 'I Remember Everything', while Steve Earle honored his late son Justin Townes Earle with a performance of 'Harlem River Blues'.

The night also featured several performers, from nominees Crockett, Jason Isbell, Amythyst KiahAllison Russell, and Valerie June, and other artists such as Sarah Jarosz and The Highwomen.
