It's been another stellar year for Americana, as has been underlined by the wealth of talent packed into the 22nd Annual Americana Honors & Awards list of nominees.
Margo Price and Charley Crockett secured the most nominations ahead of this year's event, with both picking up three apiece, while Allison Russell is again on-track to enjoy another impressive awards season. She has received two nominations for Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, the latter for ‘You're Not Alone’ with Brandi Carlile.
Sierra Ferrell is another strong contender for 2023 Artist of the Year, and she'll be battling it out alongside Billy Strings, who will be seeking to win the gong for the second year running.
Given the meteoric ascendency Zach Bryan has enjoyed over the past twelve months, it's unsurprising to see the Oklahoma songsmith earning a nomination for 2023 Song of the Year for his evocative, slow-burning hit single, ‘Something in the Orange’.
Tyler Childers is also among the nominees, with the alt-country favourite's acclaimed 2022 album, Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven? picking up a nod for Album of the Year.
The 2023 Americana Honors & Awards ceremony will take place on September 20 at Nashville's legendary Ryman Auditorium. As is tradition, the evening will be punctuated by a series of electrifying performances, the details of which will confirmed closer to the time.
The much-loved event serves as the keystone of the AmericanaFest schedule, which runs from September 19-23.
The 2022 event featured exciting performances from the likes of Buddy Miller, Adia Victoria, The McCrary Sisters, Lukas Nelson, Lucinda Williams, James McMurtry, Morgan Wade and more.
