It's been another stellar year for Americana, as was underlined by the wealth of talent packed into the 22nd Annual Americana Honors & Awards ceremony at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

Margo Price and Charley Crockett secured the most nominations ahead of this year's event, with both picking up three apiece. On the illustrious night itself, The War and Treaty were crowned 2023 Duo/Group of the Year, while Americana prodigy, S.G. Goodman, picked up the gong for 2023 Emerging Act of the Year.

Nickel Creek and The Avett Brothers were both honoured with a Trailblazer Award from Kacey Musgraves and Brandi Carlile respectively, with Bonnie Raitt taking home the 2023 Song of the Year Award for her self-penned fan-favourite, ‘Just Like That’.

Kentucky maverick, Tyler Childers, won 2023 Album of the Year for his acclaimed triple-project, Can I Take My Hounds To Heaven?, with Tyler's collaborator and renowned writer, Silas House, accepting the accolade on his behalf.

We wouldn't be surprised if the ‘In Your Love’ songsmith picks up a 2024 nomination in the same category for his recently released record, Rustin’ in the Rain.

Bluegrass phenom, Billy Strings, triumphed in a highly competitive 2023 Artist of the Year category, beating the likes of Charley Crockett, Sierra Ferrell, Margo Price and Allison Russell.

2023 Instrumentalist of the Year went to Sistastrings, comprising sibling duo Chauntee and Monique Ross, who often perform as part of Brandi Carlile's touring band.

The 2023 Americana Honors & Awards ceremony took place on September 20 at Nashville's legendary Ryman Auditorium. As is tradition, the evening was punctuated by a series of electrifying performances, including a stellar duet between Noah Kahan and The Milk Carton Kids.

The audience were also treated to performances from Bonnie Raitt, 49 Winchester, The War and Treaty, Margo Price, Allison Russell, Adeem the Artist, Brandi Carlile, Brandy Clark and more.

The much-loved event serves as the keystone of the AmericanaFest schedule, which runs from September 19-23.

The 2022 event featured exciting performances from the likes of Buddy Miller, Adia Victoria, The McCrary Sisters, Lukas Nelson, Lucinda Williams, James McMurtry, Morgan Wade and more.
