Zach Bryan's widely acclaimed 2022 opus, American Heartbreak, has officially gone Platinum, with the 34-song project having now sold the equivalent of one million units.
Upon its release, the eclectic, soul-baring record accelerated the Oklahoma songsmith's ascent into country music's upper echelons, with the album spawning an impressive array of hit singles.
These include the viral sensation, ‘Something in the Orange’, which has now gone four-times Platinum. The wistful, heartbroken ballad remains one of Zach's most popular songs to date, and continues to serve as one of the many high-points in his 2023 sets.
In addition to ‘Something in the Orange’, American Heartbreak has produced fan-favourites such as ‘Sun to Me’, ‘Mine Again’ and ‘Tishomingo’, the latter of which made a celebrated appearance in Season 5 of the blockbuster neo-Western TV series, Yellowstone.
Zach Bryan is currently readying the follow-up to American Heartbreak, Writers and Fighters. The eagerly awaited album was originally slated for a February release, but Zach then postponed the project, with Writers and Fighters now expected to be released in late Summer.
It'll certainly have sizeable shoes to fill, given the continuing success of American Heartbreak. However, judging by the calibre of songs Zach Bryan has been teasing in recent months, we suspect Writers and Fighters will more than live up to its predecessor.
