To flip a lyric from one of his favourite artists, it looks like “ZB season's approaching!” After surprising fans with the release of ‘This World's A Giant’ today (Thursday, November 7th), Zach Bryan has revealed he'll be releasing another new song tomorrow.
It's not yet clear which track the Oklahoma hitmaker is planning on releasing, but we reckon it might be ‘Motorbreath’, which Zach teased via Instagram earlier in November.
Shortly after ‘This World's A Giant’ was made available to stream, Zach Bryan returned to his Instagram Stories to share a clip of him noodling away at the guitar, while ‘Motorbreath’ plays in the background. Although it's not been confirmed, this has led some fans to believe this will be the song Zach chooses to release this evening.
Both ‘This World's A Giant’ and the unnamed second song arrive in the midst of a media storm circling Zach Bryan, following his contentious split from his girlfriend of over a year, Brianna LaPaglia. After the ‘Something in the Orange’ singer-songwriter announced the break-up via social media last month, Brianna responded with a video expressing her frustration at the manner in which the relationship ended.
This laid the foundation for Brianna LaPaglia's BFF's podcast co-hosts, Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards, to stun fans by releasing a trap-inspired diss track aimed at Zach Bryan, titled ‘Smallest Man’. The song was swiftly removed from YouTube, with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy blaming Zach's label, Warner Records, but at the time of writing, ‘Smallest Man’ has resurfaced on streaming platforms.
As a result, when Zach Bryan announced he'd be releasing new music last night, the timing felt pertinent, with Zach and his team potentially trying to redirect fans’ attention following the diss track, which consists of an unrelenting barrage of criticism against the ‘Snow’ crooner and the way he treated Brianna LaPaglia.
It's worth stressing that Zach Bryan shared a snippet of ‘The World's A Giant’ back in January 2024, so unless he's reworked it in recent weeks, it's highly unlikely the track is addressing the break-up. It'll be fascinating to see which song Zach follows up ‘The World's A Giant’ with, and whether either of the two new offerings will appear on the ‘I Remember Everything’ chart-topper's forthcoming studio album.
Either way, we'll always welcome the chance to hear new music from Zach Bryan with open arms, and we're hoping he's kicking off another hot streak of releases in the mould of his Fall 2022 flurry of singles, which saw him treating listeners to now-iconic tracks such as ‘Burn, Burn, Burn’, ‘Fifth of May’, ‘Starved’ and more.
