The third season of ABC's cinematic, Montana-based drama, Big Sky: Deadly Trails came to a close on Thursday evening.
The finale opened with HARDY and Lainey Wilson's dark, ominous murder ballad, ‘wait in the truck’. The single is taken from HARDY's new half-country, half-rock album, the mockingbird & THE CROW, which was released shortly after the Big Sky Season 3 finale aired.
Zach Bryan's slow-burning anthem, ‘Something in the Orange (Z&E's Version)’, also made an appearance in the high-stakes finale. Zach recently released a live rendition of his viral hit as part of his All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster (Live From Red Rocks) project, which has helped to propel the song back up the charts.
The single version of ‘Something in the Orange’ currently sits in the Top Ten of the all-genre Billboard 100, and remains No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country chart. The emotive track has also been nominated for the 2023 Grammy Award for ‘Best Country Solo Performance’.
In addition to this, Parker McCollum's powerful, heart-rending song, ‘I Can't Breathe’, was featured at a key moment in the Big Sky: Deadly Trails Season 3 finale. The song originally appeared on the Texan's 2017 hidden gem of an album, Probably Wrong.
Having established itself as a hugely popular show over the course of the first two seasons, the Big Sky team stepped it up a notch for the special Deadly Trails Season 3 instalment.
The soundtrack was not the only way that viewers could enjoy a country music presence, with country icon, Reba McEntire, being recruited to play Sunny Barnes in the new Big Sky season. Earlier in the month, Reba took a starring role in Lifetime's judicial drama, The Hammer.
