Tim McGraw Shares Rare Performance of His Morgan Wallen, HARDY and Eric Church Collaboration, ‘McArthur’

Tim McGraw treated fans at his recent show to a surprise performance of ‘McArthur’, his star-studded 2026 collaboration with Morgan Wallen, HARDY and Eric Church.

The song follows four generations of farmers, with the HARDY-penned tune exploring the various challenges faced by those in the agricultural industry in the face of modernisation.

HARDY co-wrote the powerful offering with Chase McGill, Jameson Rodgers and Josh Thompson, with the ‘A ROCK’ hitmaker launching a lifestyle brand, McArthur Legacy, inspired by the song, with apparel, items, live events and more expected to come.

Shortly after its release, HARDY underlined what an honour it was getting to finally write a song for McGraw, donning it a “bucket-list moment”, “Tim, I just could not get him to bite on anything. And that’s what makes Tim Tim. He’s always had such amazing songs. He’s very picky, because he’s just got a career of phenomenal songs, and so I took that as like a challenge for me to get him to bite on something - and finally he did. So, it’s definitely a bucket-list moment for me”.

McGraw's rendition of ‘McArthur’ showcased the ‘Where the Green Grass Grows’ icon's ability to lace emotion into every line, with McGraw capturing the bittersweet ambience of the song. His intentionally weather-worn delivery embodies the various characters’ shared sense of being jaded by the struggle to hold onto their ranch.

It's an idea that is at the heart of Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone universe, which McGraw - of course - is a part of, after having starred in the 1883 spin-off with his wife, Faith Hill.

In the caption of a video of the spellbinding performance, which he shared via Instagram, McGraw gushed, “Got to pull this one out the other night!! Thanks for singing along!”

As one fan pointed out, this means that Wallen is the only artist out of the foursome who is yet to perform ‘McArthur’ live, with McGraw, Church and HARDY all including it in their setlists at some point during the year. We're hoping we get to see Wallen performing the beautifully written track - ideally with some of the other featured artists - at some point during his long-rumoured 2027 tour.

Meanwhile, McGraw continues his hugely popular 2026 Pawn Shop Guitar Tour, with shows lined up in Austin, Dallas, Rogers, St. Louis, Noblesville, Tinley Park, Alpharetta and more.

The tour takes its name from McGraw's recent single, ‘Pawn Shop Guitar’, with this widely expected to be the name of the ‘Humble and Kind’ crooner's keenly awaited next album.
