Megan Moroney has been dropping singles and teasing tunes left and right, but she's finally satiated fans with some news they can sink their teeth into.
“The album is 98%, maybe 99% done," the artist recently told Billboard. "I’m just kind of tweaking the mixes and stuff."
She reveals very little about the forthcoming release, but hints: "There are no drastic changes in sound, but I do think the happy songs are happier and the sad songs are sadder. I think it’s a great look into the last year of my life and my songwriting... I do have someone pretty cool singing some background vocals on one of the songs.”
The follow-up to her acclaimed debut album and breakout opus Lucky will likely feature recently released singles like 'No Caller ID' and '28th of June', as well as her most recent tease, a track titled 'Indifferent'.
The new album news arrives just as Moroney grabs six nominations at the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards. Seeing nods for Female Artist of the Year, New Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (‘Tennessee Orange’, Artist and Songwriter nominations), Music Event of the Year (‘Can't Break Up Now’ with Old Dominion) and Visual Media of the Year (‘Tennessee Orange’), the artist leads the pack in nominations – tied with Luke Combs – ahead of the May 16 ceremony.
Awards shows and album releases aside, these next few months will continue to be a whirlwind for the sensation as she embarks on her headlining trek, the Lucky 2.0 Tour, as well as a run of festival dates and a stint of stadium shows in support of Kenny Chesney through the spring and summer.
The artist will then set her sights for the UK and Europe for a 15-show headlining endeavor she has dubbed the Georgia Girl Tour.
