Few artists have enjoyed as meteoric a rise as Megan Moroney over the past twelve months, with the Georgia singer-songwriter earning her first No. 1 single with the endearing, football-themed ‘Tennessee Orange’ as well as dropping her acclaimed debut album, Lucky.

As a result of this stratospheric - and well-deserved - success, it wasn't long after the release of Lucky in May that fans began clamouring for more new music from the country prodigy.

Megan Moroney temporarily satiated them by releasing three new songs as part of the deluxe version of Lucky in September 2023, ‘Fix You Too’ with Kameron Marlowe, ‘Nothin’ Crazy’ with Mackenzie Carpenter and ‘Reasons to Stay’.

However, the start of the New Year has brought with it a fresh wave of yearning for more music from Megan Moroney, with the ‘I'm Not Pretty’ songsmith stoking the flames by teasing a couple of enchanting unreleased tracks across her socials.

Towards the end of 2023, Megan Moroney shared multiple snippets of an unreleased song entitled ‘No Caller ID’, which finds the up-and-coming artist crooning about an ex's attempts to wheedle his way back into her heart in the early hours of the morning. During one of her celebrated 2023 Long Road Festival performances, Megan confirmed ‘No Caller ID’ would be appearing on her sophomore album.

It's a powerful ballad that showcases the sinuous melodies, honeyed vocals and evocative storytelling that Megan Moroney laces into her music, and it's safe to say we're hoping she decides to make this track available as soon as possible.

Megan gave fans hope in the comments of a recent TikTok post, where she responded to a follower's plea to release ‘No Caller ID’ by reassuring them with the simple promise, “Soon!”.

In December 2023, Megan Moroney treated listeners to another unreleased demo, ‘28th of June’, which explores the feelings of lingering anguish every time the anniversary of a lost relationship comes around. Megan captioned the video by underlining how much the song means to her, joking that she “broke my own heart writing this one”.

Excitingly, in the same caption, the 2023 CMT Breakthrough Female Video of the Year winner emphasised that she'd nearly finished her hotly anticipated Lucky follow-up, sharing the tantalising news that she's “almost done writing my second record”.

It must be said that we're still waiting on an official title and release date for the project. Nonetheless, given the wealth of songs Megan Moroney has in her armoury - including a few fan-favourite candidates that didn't make the cut for Lucky - we think (and hope) we'll be able to enjoy new music from Megan in the coming weeks.
