Luke Grimes has confirmed that, despite being a Hollywood star, a revered country music artist and the frontman of the blockbuster Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, beneath all of that, he's just like all of us when it comes to his listening habits.

In a new conversation with CMT, Grimes reveals what his favourite song of 2026 is - and given his involvement in the music video, we perhaps should've seen this one coming.

Grimes doesn't hesitate when giving his answer, “I think my most listened-to song of the year is everyone's most listened to song, which is [Ella Langley's] ‘Choosin’ Texas’. Undeniable”.

Grimes stars in the ‘Choosin’ Texas’ music video alongside Langley, with the Lone Star State-inspired visuals also featuring cameos from Miranda Lambert, Kaitlin Butts and more.

Grimes has been open about his love for Langley's music before he got involved in the project. Last week, the Ohio native called the decision to work with her a “no-brainer”.

We'd love to see Grimes and Langley joining forces in a musical capacity, and we think the former's DIY, alt-country aesthetic could complement Langley's sleeker but still traditionally-grounded sound. With Grimes continuing his foray into country following his role in Yellowstone, having worked with other Music City favourites like Riley Green - who appeared in Season 1 of Marshals - the subject of a collaboration or a co-write hopefully came up while shooting the ‘Choosin’ Texas’ video.

When Grimes made the surprise appearance in ‘Choosin’ Texas’, fans wasted no time in taking to the comments to plea with the ‘American Sniper’ actor to recruit Langley for a role in Marshals. Given the fact that Green featured in the first season, and various artists have guested in the original Yellowstone, such as Lainey Wilson, Zach Bryan and Ryan Bingham, a cameo from Langley would certainly make sense.
