Lauren Alaina and Lainey Wilson have teamed up for a fun, playful duet for Lauren's Unlocked EP.

The new song, ‘Thicc As Thieves’, spins teasingly around a clever, light-hearted pun, with the simmering, guitar-driven track serving as a celebration of Lauren and Lainey's friendship and - as the title suggests - their backsides, in equal measure.

The two singer-songwriters recently teamed up during the opening day of CMA Fest 2023 to perform ‘Thicc As Thieves’, with the high-energy anthem proving to be a hit with the Nashville crowd. Earlier in the morning, Lainey Wilson delivered another stellar, eye-catching solo performance on the Chevy Riverfront Stage.

‘Thicc As Thieves’ appears on Lauren Alaina's debut EP under Big Loud Records, Unlocked, which also features infectious tracks such as ‘A Walk In The Bar’, ‘Don't Judge A Woman’ and ‘Like Her’. As is epitomised by the Lainey Wilson-assisted ‘Thicc As Thieves’, Lauren Alaina's penchant for witty wordplay is a recurring theme throughout the EP.

Speaking ahead of the project's release, Lauren Alaina underlined her pride at finally having Unlocked out in the world, “Five years ago, I don't know that I would've cut any of these songs; it took slowing down, getting to know myself, digging deep in the writing room, and living some life to bring me to this place with this new music. I feel like I've fully embraced and stepped into who I am as a woman, an artist, a songwriter, and I'm so excited for my fans to get to step into this next chapter with me”.

Surprisingly - or perhaps not so, given its propensity to go viral in recent months - ‘Thicc As Thieves’ is not the first song Lainey Wilson has recorded about her now-famous behind.

The Bell Bottom Country star recently released a tongue-in-cheek collaboration with Dierks Bentley's Hot Country Knights. ‘Herassmeant’ features lyrics such as “I said I won't deny it if I was a pirate / I'd dig that booty up on the beach”, with Lainey Wilson appearing under the moniker of Darla McFarland.
