During one of the most hotly anticipated sets of CMA Fest 2023, Lainey Wilson surprised her devoted army of fans with a special appearance from Lukas Nelson.
The two artists performed their recent collaboration, ‘More Than Friends’, which appears on the upcoming Lukas Nelson and Promise Of The Real album, Sticks and Stones. The joint rendition of the song follows their eye-catching collaborative performance of ‘More Than Friends’ at the Grand Ole Opry earlier in the week.
Lainey Wilson dazzled the Chevy Riverfront Stage crowd with her charisma and seemingly endless roster of hits, with attendees packed in to see one of the biggest stars in modern country, despite the Bell Bottom Country singer-songwriter being on at 10 in the morning.
Lukas’ appearance seemed to inject an additional boost of energy into the audience, with the duo delivering a flawless rendition of the sweet, light-hearted anthem.
Unsurprisingly, Lainey's stage presence was as commanding as always throughout the remainder of her performance, which featured fan-favourites such as the chart-topping ‘Heart Like A Truck’, ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’ and her new Country Radio single, ‘Watermelon Moonshine’. At the end of Lainey Wilson's opening track, ‘Hold My Halo’, a stunning fighter jet flyover cemented the magnitude of the occasion.
CMA Fest 2023 ticket-holders will now be curious to see whether Lukas Nelson - or any of Lainey's other recent collaborators, such as Hot Country Knights and Jelly Roll - make an unexpected appearance during Lainey Wilson's Nissan Stadium main-stage set on Friday.
Also set to perform at the Nissan Stadium across Nashville's CMA Fest weekend is Luke Combs, Tim McGraw, HARDY, Jon Pardi, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Cody Johnson, Carly Pearce, Tyler Hubbard, Little Big Town, Dan + Shay and more.
Tasked with the unenviable job of following Lainey Wilson's Chevy Riverfront Stage set was Elvie Shane, with the country-rock maverick taking the stage shortly after Lainey concluded.
