Dierks Bentley's tongue-in-cheek, 90's-inspired band, Hot Country Knights, are back with new music - and they're recruited one of the biggest names in the genre to lend their vocals to their comeback single.

The new track, ‘Herassmeant’, features Lainey Wilson performing under the moniker, Darla McFarland. It's tradition for Hot Country Knights collaborators to assume an alias, with Miranda Lambert having joined Dierks’ mullet-donning crew back in 2015 as ‘Shelby Shelton’ to cover Shania Twain's ‘Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?’

To celebrate the news, Lainey has even created a new Instagram page for her alter-ego of Darla, which suggests her ‘Herassmeant’ duet might not be the last we see of this newly created character.

Hot Country Knights, who haven't released any music since 2020, when they dropped their The K is Silent project, confirmed the new Lainey - or rather, ‘Darla’ - link-up on social media. They teased, “New music (volume up) featuring a lady with a big ol’...voice”.

Judging from the snippet they posted of the song, ‘Herassmeant’ will be a light-hearted, pun-filled play on the fact that one of Lainey's less musical assets has - bizarrely - gone viral, ever since a video from one of her recent shows did the rounds on TikTok.

‘Herassmeant’ will appear on the Hot Country Knights’ new project, Midknight Rodeo, with both the single and the album revealed to be ‘coming soon’, with no official release date in place as of yet.
