Charles Wesley Godwin has released four new tracks as part of a ‘sampler’ pack, ahead of his upcoming album, Family Ties.
Excitingly, ‘All Again’ has been included on the EP, a song teased by the West Virginia songsmith back in January. The sweet, heartwarming track has been accompanied by a bittersweet video, which follows the tragic story of a man who's been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Despite this, we get to witness several snapshots into the man's life after this, as he holds onto a visceral sense of joy and contentment through the moments he gets to spend with his loved ones.
This theme of family underpins each song on the EP, which also features ‘West of Lonesome’, ‘Cue Country Roads’ and the title-track of Charles Wesley Godwin's new album, ‘Family Ties’.
The ‘Lyin’ Low’ crooner has teased all of these tracks in the past few months, with ‘West of Lonesome’ in particular catching the ears of a number of fans, who have since been clamouring for the wistful ballad to be given an official release.
They'll undoubtedly be celebrating Charles’ decision to include the song on his new four-song EP, as well as the news that the fast-emerging singer-songwriter will be releasing his debut album under Big Loud, Family Ties, on September 22.
Along with these four offerings, both ‘Willing and Able’ and ’The Flood’ - which Charles performed during his recent Holler Live Session - have thankfully made their way onto the album's tracklist.
