The ACM Awards have built a reputation for the wonderfully eclectic and star-studded range of unexpected collaborations that come to life on its stage. Staying true to its tradition of surprise joint performances, attendees at the 2023 instalment were able to witness Carly Pearce link up with 90s country legend, Trisha Yearwood for a show-stopping set.
It was an exciting, enchanting collision of two big-name artists, with Pearce having recently picked up her fourth No. 1 at Country Radio for ‘What He Didn't Do’.
Yearwood has a glittering array of country anthems to her name, and in honour of this, the two country trailblazers performed a medley of some of the Georgia icon's much-loved hits.
Pearce and Yearwood ran through ‘Wrong Side of Memphis’, ‘She's In Love With The Boy’ and ‘X's and O's’, with the Texas crowd greeting each transition with a euphoric roar.
It served as one of the many highlights of the evening, with the 2023 ACM audience also being treated to a special collaboration between British singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran, and country megastar, Luke Combs, for a moving rendition of the Sheeran's new track, ‘Life Goes On’.
Similarly to Sheeran and Combs, it's not the first time Yearwood and Pearce have teamed up. In 2021, they performed a powerful duet at the Grand Ole Opry to celebrate Carly Pearce's induction.
Also hitting the stage throughout the electrifying 2023 ACM Awards ceremony was Kane Brown, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Jordan Davis, Ashley McBryde, The War and Treaty, Cole Swindell, Hailey Whitters and more.
