In the biggest twist of the night, Chris Stapleton has notched the highest honor of the night at the 58th Annual ACM Awards.
Giving thanks to his family, artist team and fans, the decorated singer-songwriter exuded nothing but gratefulness for the award and demonstrated the utmost humility against such a stacked category.
Other nominees in the category included country music royalty such as Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Morgan Wallen.
Stapleton embarked on his "All-American Road Show" through much of last year and extended the trek into 2023. He will also be hitting the road with George Strait this summer.
Earlier this year, the Kentucky native performed alongside Stevie Wonder at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, proving his versatility and his wide reach outside of country music.
Stapleton won the 2022 ACM Male Artist of the Year and was up for 4 categories at this year's ceremony.
