Bailey Zimmerman has earned his first ever CMT Awards nominations, with two fan-favourites from his 2022 Leave The Light On EP receiving nods ahead of April's ceremony.
The brooding, heartbroken ‘Rock and A Hard Place’ has been nominated for Male Video of the Year. The singer-songwriter recently performed the hit single on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Zimmerman will be going head-to-head with Morgan Wallen, who has received a nomination in the same category for ‘Wasted On You’.
Speaking to Holler last year, Zimmerman underlined that Wallen had taught him a lot about touring, and that he sees him as a mentor.
Also nominated in the Male Video of the Year category is Cody Johnson's ‘Human’, Jelly Roll's ‘Son Of A Sinner’, Luke Combs’ ‘The Kind Of Love We Make’ and more.
In addition, Bailey Zimmerman's ‘Fall in Love’ has been put up for Breakthrough Male Video of the Year at this year's CMT Awards.
Towards the end of 2022, the electrifying single became the Louisville native's first ever Country Radio No. 1.
Also competing for Breakthrough Male Video of the Year will be Corey Kent's ‘Wild as Her’, Drake Milligan's ‘Sounds Like Something I'd Do’, Jackson Dean's ‘Don't Come Lookin’’, Jelly Roll's ‘Son Of A Sinner’ and Nate Smith's ‘Whiskey On You’.
The 2023 CMT Awards will be hosted once again by Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, both of whom have received nominations for the evening's most coveted prize, Video of the Year.
