Morgan Wallen has become somewhat of a mentor for one of country's most exciting prodigies, Bailey Zimmerman. As someone who has already entered the modern-day constellation of country stars, Wallen has been offering some advice to the ‘Never Leave’ hitmaker.
Zimmerman has enjoyed an eventful few days, having been unveiled as one of Billboard's Top New Country Artists of the Year 2022, a list that was headed up by fellow trailblazer, Zach Bryan.
In addition to this, on Thursday Zimmerman was unveiled as one of the support acts for Morgan Wallen's newly announced 2023 One Night At A Time world tour.
While fans eagerly wait for the US and Canada presale to begin on December 7, Zimmerman and his Wallen tour-mates, Ernest, HARDY and Parker McCollum, will be preparing their sets for some of the biggest audiences they'll have ever played to.
With that in mind, Bailey Zimmerman spoke to Holler about some of the key things that Morgan Wallen has taught him so far, particularly with regards to touring and putting on a great live show.
“One day, Morg told me, 'I’ve only ever cancelled one show, I’ve played shows no matter what - this is the reason you do this, you’ve got to work really hard', I’ve been trying to focus on that,” Zimmerman recalls.
Armed with a collection of songs that earned him the biggest streaming country debut of all time and the most streamed all-genre debut of 2022, Zimmerman's performances will be hotly anticipated - both by long-time fans and new listeners alike.
Zimmerman goes on to underline how it takes a heck of a lot to stop Morgan Wallen from performing - a mentality he is hoping to emulate.
“Even if you’re sick, you’ve got to put on a performance, because these people have paid to come and watch a good show. That’s one of the biggest things I’ve taken from him so far”.
With a pause and a knowing smile, possibly at the thought of joining Wallen's 39-date tour, Zimmerman added, “I’m sure there will be more lessons learned!”
Alongside Ernest, Bailey Zimmerman will be supporting across all dates of Morgan Wallen's 2023 world tour. He announced the exciting news to his army of online followers with a simple but tantalising promise - “This is gonna get rowdy!”
Presale for Morgan Wallen's 2023 One Night At A Time tour begins on December 8, with fans able to register until Sunday at 11:59 PST. For the Australia and New Zealand dates, the fan-club presale begins on December 7, with general tickets on-sale from December 9.
$3 of every ticket for Wallen's 2023 US dates will be donated to the Morgan Wallen Foundation.
