If there’s one artist that brings the little sister energy to country music, it’s Lauren Alaina. The way she plays with long time pals like Kane Brown and Scotty McCreery has anyone with a younger sibling feeling seen.

Alaina and Brown went to middle school together and have always shouted loudly about their support and love for one another. Their friendship spans decades and she’s still pulling pranks like they were teens.

Most recently, Alaina and her family were over at the Browns for what seems like a birthday party and the ‘Never Been In Love’ singer set up some small pranks for her longtime friend.

Alaina gave him random, pointless updates throughout the day, and with each one, Brown grew more confused about the minutiae of her plans. From, “I’m gonna go check my hair,” to “I’m gonna put some sunscreen on first,” Alaina left Brown in the silence that followed, unsure what he was supposed to do with the information. Eventually, Brown’s perplexity peaked and he caught on that this was classic Alaina winding him up.

McCreery also fell for Alaina’s endearing wind ups when the pair did a ‘fit-check’ before a show last week. The pair have known each other for fifteen years, having met on American Idol where they faced each other in the final. McCreery narrowly won, making Alaina the runner up.

The ‘Bottle Rockets’ crooner showed off his stage outfit right before Alaina’s mischievous side introduced hers, full of made-up brand names. ‘Bling Bling Shabling-a-Bling’ was her jewellery supplier, her belt was from ‘French With Benefits’, the jumpsuit was from ‘My Body’s Too Bootilicous For You Babe’ and her heels, the pièce de résistance, were from ‘The Higher The Heel The Closer To God’.

McCreery - polite, sweet, McCreery - responded with, “wow…that’s a lot of words…what happened to, like, Levi’s?”

Alaina came clean straight away, laughing it off together. Her caption said it all, "this guy has been like a brother to me since the beginning of my career on @americanidol. 15 years later and I still get so excited when I get to share the stage with him and we always have the best time catching up (even when I make him do videos like this) 😂." McCreery later commented on the video, “Some things never change. Always a hoot with you @laurenalaina”

Unapologetically herself, Lauren Alaina helps fans to feel like they know her through her candid videos and vulnerable honesty. Her album, Stages, is due 28th August and we’re hoping for more of the Georgia girl’s humour in the run up to release.
