On the opening night of his 2024 Quittin‘ Time tour, Zach Bryan surprised fans by bringing out Kacey Musgraves to perform their chart-topping single, ‘I Remember Everything’.
The crowd greeted Kacey's emergence on-stage with a chorus of cheers and applause, with this marking the first time the two artists have teamed up to perform their Hot 100 No. 1 live.
Zach performed the opening verses and the first iteration of the hook solo, leading fans to believe it would just be him delivering the track, before Kacey Musgraves strolled casually onto the stage to take the lead for her portion of the song.
As is the case on the studio version of ‘I Remember Everything’, which was released as part of Zach Bryan's lauded 2023 self-titled album, Zach and Kacey's vocals blended seamlessly together as they patrolled the expansive stage.
Zach often brings a weight and ruggedness to his delivery, but for ‘I Remember Everything’, he introduces a welcome tenderness that is mirrored by Kacey's intricate, ethereal vocals.
Elsewhere during the momentous set, Zach Bryan treated ticket-holders at Chicago's United Center to the live debut of his unreleased fan-favourite, ‘The Great American Bar Scene’, which is widely expected to be the title-track for his forthcoming project.
In addition, attendees were able to experience another unreleased track, ‘Better Days’, which Zach Bryan teased last year, along with staples of the Oklahoma singer-songwriter's setlist, such as ‘Condemned’, ‘Tourniquet’, ‘Heading South’, ‘Burn, Burn, Burn’, ‘Tishomingo’ and the anthemic finale, ‘Revival’.
The crowd celebrated the fact that Zach Bryan chose to incorporate a range of newer material in his set, with the country-folk megastar delivering stellar renditions of ‘Boys of Faith’ and ‘Nine Ball’, both of which appear on his 2023 Boys of Faith EP.
Zach Bryan has two more shows lined up in Chicago, before he takes his Quittin’ Time tour to the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 9.
