The ACM Award for Male Artist of the Year has been won by Thomas Rhett.

Last year’s Entertainer of the Year is about to release his fifth studio album entitled ‘Country Again’.

He wins his third ACM Male Artist of the Year Award after previously winning in 2017 and 2019.

All five nominees performed at the awards ceremony, including Dierks Bentley, who invited Americana duo War and Treaty to perform on stage with him for a U2 cover.

Four of the five nominees were vying for the top prize of Entertainer of the Year too, with just Dierks missing out on a nod there. Buck Owens was the first recipient of this award when the show first began in 1966.

Miranda Lambert opened the show with Elle King, performing 'Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)', before joining Jon Randall and Jack Ingram to perform 'In His Arms'.

She also duetted with Chris Stapleton on his track 'Maggie's Song' later on in the show.
