Taylor Swift has tied Drake's all-time Billboard Music Awards record, with the ‘Cruel Summer’ hitmaker earning 10 awards at the 2023 ceremony in Las Vegas. The two artists now have a staggering 39 trophies apiece, with Drake triumphing in 5 categories this year.

Taylor picked up the second-most accolades of the evening, including the biggest award of the evening, Top Artist, with country megastar Morgan Wallen leading the pack with 11 gongs.

In addition to Top Artist, Taylor Swift was crowned Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, Top Billboard Global (Excl. US) Artist and Top Country Female Artist.

The global icon also secured the coveted award for Top Selling Song, in honour of her hit single, ‘Anti-Hero’, which features on Taylor Swift's widely acclaimed 2022 album, Midnights.

In her acceptance speech, Taylor Swift thanked her fans and Billboard for her array of awards, “Well, this is unreal, the fact that you guys have given me 10 Billboard Awards...I'm talking [to] the fans specifically, none of this happens without you. Billboard [bases] everything off of what you are listening to and what you're passionate about, and I'm so honoured that this year you made the Eras tour so magical, you went and saw the movie, you cared about my re-recordings...”

The Pennsylvania chart-topper then underlined her gratitude her Swifties once again, “I love you so much, I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have you in my corner and caring about the music that I make, so thank you....thank you 10 million times for this”.

Elsewhere during the 2023 Billboard Music Awards ceremony, Zach Bryan received his first ever accolades, including the gong for Top New Artist, while Morgan Wallen serenaded a selection of fans with a pre-recorded rendition of his much-loved track, ‘98 Braves’.
