Just as late summer begins to burn low, it's tradition for former U.S. President Barack Obama to unveil what he's been listening to during these dog days.

This year, his seasonal playlist did not disappoint. The Democratic leader included his usual genre-spanning mix of songs, this time, with several country-Americana staples sprinkled into the selection.

Sharing who made the cut on social media, the former president wrote: "With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!"

Shaboozey's viral 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' was the first to top the list, flanked by several pop hits from the likes of Charli XCX and Billie Eilish. Americana stalwart Lucinda Williams was another to grace the roster with her classic 'Unsuffer Me,' alongside folk favorites Nick Drake and Bob Dylan.

Morgan Wallen was another country inclusion for his recent Moneybagg Yo collaboration 'Whiskey Whiskey,' with Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter opus 'TEXAS HOLD' EM' corralling the country picks.

Obama's 2023 summer selection was not absent of country hitmakers either. Luke Combs, Ashley McBryde and The War and Treaty all graced the playlist – Combs for his immensely popular cover of Tracy Chapman's ‘Fast Car’; McBryde for her ‘The Devil I Know’; and The War and Treaty for their striking ‘Ain't No Harmin’ Me’.
