Randy Travis has taken to social media to announce the track list and release of title track for his highly anticipated album, Same Old Way. His 24th studio album, the record will act as the first catalog of completely new songs by the 'Three Wooden Crosses' crooner since 2008.
"NEW RELEASE: The voice of Randy Travis returns - the SAME OLD WAY - with this new record from the vault… Recorded and written with long-time producer Kyle Lehning. Listen now on all streaming platforms!" Travis wrote as the caption to his latest social media post. The title track is set to act as song 10 of 12 to his upcoming record to be released on Nov. 13th.
After suffering a stroke in 2013, Travis has kept up with his passion for country music by utilizing AI to produce songs, but he has also released various collections of greatest hits and anniversary albums. Though he did this in his 90s to early 2000s era as well, as many artists of the time did, putting together records of their most prominent work for fans to listen to on CD or vinyl.
Regardless of physical circumstances, what's rather admirable about Travis is how he has always kept his foot in the game - which is a testament to his love for the genre, more than anything. Wildly passionate, he has kept a watchful eye on today's happenings in country music, spending time at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, hanging out with young country blood like Stella Lefty and Vincent Mason, being continuously lifted up by long-time standing artists like Carrie Underwood, and even spending time with well-known friends of country stars and folks with popular platforms like Theo Von.
Touring is also something Travis has had no intention of putting down, with dates spanning across the U.S. from August through November as part of his More Life tour.
As far as brand-new releases go, however, the 'Deeper Than the Holler' songster has decided his time on the sidelines is well over with. In addition to the album's title track, Travis has released two new songs to be featured on the record, 'I Don't Care,' and 'Fish On.'
Collaborating with Travis on the album is his longtime producer and friend, Kyle Lehning. Receiving a major songwriting credit on single 'Same Old Way,' Lehning has worked with him on the record as the two blew the dust off of all 12 vault tracks, and Lehning tweaked their sounds and lyrics according to Travis's up to date input.
Same Old Way is to be a collection of brand-new songs sure to target the hearts of long-time fans of the country legend and reintroduce Travis's classic sound to fans from a modern country age. Resilient and strong as ever, driven by passion and true artistic care, Travis returns with an album that will contribute to a new age while simultaneously calling back to an old, reminding listeners that he is still doing country music the same old way.
