Update - Post Malone and Blake Shelton will release ‘Pour Me a Drink’ on Friday, June 21st.
Post Malone is keeping the teasers rolling, with the ‘Chemical’ hitmaker taking to Instagram to share a tantalising snippet of a new song with country legend, Blake Shelton, ‘Pour Me A Drink’.
The rowdy, beer-soaked track feels destined to become our next go-to Friday night anthem, with Posty and Blake trading lyrics back and forth about how they need to unwind following a hard week. It plays as a rose-tinted, feel-good throwback to the party-starting vibes of 2010s country, and seems to reinforce the notion that Post Malone's forthcoming debut album will explore a range of different country eras.
Although there's no release date for the new Blake Shelton duet yet, it certainly feels as though the rollout for Posty's hotly anticipated country project is picking up pace.
Similarly to previously uploaded demos of ‘I Ain't Got A Guy For That’ with Luke Combs and the Morgan Wallen-assisted ‘I Had Some Help’ - before it dropped on May 10th - this new teaser has been accompanied by a video of Posty jamming out to the song. Blake Shelton then shared a clip of him happily watching Post Malone's post, and embodying the track's lyrics by raising a glass to his collaborator.
It's not the first time Post Malone and Blake Shelton have crossed paths, with the duo joining forces as part of NBC's All-Star Elvis tribute in 2019, with the two chart-toppers performing a jaunty, high-energy rendition of ‘Blue Suede Shoes’. Their chemistry was apparent throughout, with Blake even teasingly asking Post Malone what he should call him, with Posty replying, “You can call me whatever you want”.
‘Pour Me a Drink’ is set to join ‘I Had Some Help’, ‘I Ain't Got A Guy For That’, ‘Missin’ You Like This’ and ‘Never Love You Again’ on Post Malone's new album, with Posty delivering a stellar performance of the latter at the 2024 ACM Awards.
As we await more news regarding the New York singer-songwriter's 2024 project, his blockbuster Morgan Wallen collaboration, ‘I Had Some Help’, keeps smashing through streaming and chart records, with the infectious, beat-driven track recently securing the coveted No. 1 spots on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Global 200.
