After weeks of speculation and conjecture, Post Malone has given fans the confirmation they've been waiting for: this year, he will be dropping not one but two albums this year.

Post first teased that he was working on two projects during a Twitch stream in December, and a few months later, the ’Chemical’ hitmaker shared a photo of a double-album tracklist.

The record, which will seemingly be split into two 20-song discs, is set to be called The Eternal Buzz, with the viral ‘Chrome Heartbreaker’ expected to be the lead single. Post performed the track during his FIFA World Cup Closing Ceremony performance.

At the end of his final show on the Big Ass Stadium Tour, Part 2 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Post addressed the crowd and offered them an update on the status of his new music.

Post began, “Thank you so very much. Thank you for ending the tour in such a special and amazing way. Thank you for putting up with me for all this time. And you know, we sat around for a little bit and it was brought to my attention we hadn't made an album in two years. Usually it's an album a year, I guess, is what they tell me”.

He went on to underline that, because his loyal fanbase had to go the entirety of 2025 without an album from him, he'd be making it up to them this year, “So we're making two f***ing albums for you crazy motherf***ers. And I just wanted to say thank you for your patience. Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for putting up with me...I love you so much. There's so many faces in here that I see so often, and I'm so honoured and so very blessed to be able to be a part of your life”.

Post concluded with a heartfelt message encouraging fans to go out and be whoever they want to be, “Thank you very, very much. And God knows at 31 years old, that we did it again, and we're gonna f***ing do it again, and we're gonna f***ing do it again, and we're gonna keep f***ing kicking ass until the day that we f***ing die. I love you. Thank you for sharing your life with me. Thank you for being a part of my life. Thank you for uplifting me and giving me the support that I needed. And I love you more than I can say, ladies and gentlemen. Keep kicking ass, be yourself, be unique, do what the f*** you wanna do. Don't let anybody on the face of this planet f***ing stop you. I love you, Salt Lake City”.

When Post is declaring he is working on “two albums” here, it seems he is referring to the two sides of The Eternal Buzz. Given the trap-leaning textures of ‘Chrome Heartbreaker’, we expect one half of the project to be a return to Post's earlier Stoney sound, while the other half will likely feature more recent country aesthetic.

While some fans expressed fears that he would be departing from the country space altogether, Post has previously revealed that he's been working with Thomas Rhett and ERNEST on this new album, signalling that he will still be releasing country material. Jelly Roll and Jake Worthington have also been writing with Post.

Post delayed the start of his 2026 tour to complete the album, and now, having completed that blockbuster stadium run with Jelly, it seems he can put the finishing touches to The Eternal Buzz. Given the hype that currently surrounds ‘Chrome Heartbreaker’ across social media, we suspect he'll be releasing this in the coming weeks.
