A lovable moment was recently captured between Ernest and Post Malone as the unlikely pair paid an impromptu tribute to the late Toby Keith, who recently passed away on Feb. 5.

Posted by Ernest on Instagram, the two can be seen belting Keith’s 2001 patriotic anthem ‘Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)’ as a guitar is being strummed off camera. The caption simply reads: “AMERICA 🇺🇸 at 2am #RipTobyKeith”.

They look casual in what seems to be a recording studio, and it makes one wonder, could we be witnessing an Ernest-Posty collab in the works?

It’s no secret Malone has been making moves into the world of country music.

After having flirted with the genre and collaborated with many of its stars for months now, the ‘White Iverson’ rapper recently confirmed a country debut was in the works. The assurance came during a Twitch live stream on which he told fans some material had already been recorded for the impending project.

“I keep singing a song that we made while I was in Nashville, and it's so fucking sick, but it's not out,” he shared.

Much has been teased – including a collaboration with today’s heavy hitter Luke Combs on the track supposedly titled ‘I Ain't Got A Guy For That’ – but little is officially known about Posty’s forthcoming release.

In a conversation with Ashley Cooke, the ‘Never Til Now’ singer revealed to Holler that Malone has been working closely with several artists and many of her label-mates on the Big Loud roster.
