Morgan Wallen's songs generally don't need any help going viral, with countless tracks from his last album, I'm the Problem, spreading like wildfire across TikTok, from ‘Love Somebody’ and ‘TN’ to ‘What I Want’ and ‘20 Cigarettes’.

But now, something curious is happening on the social media platform. A subtly remixed version of Wallen's ‘Drinking Til It Does’ has been making the rounds across TikTok, and at the time of writing, the audio has been used across a whopping 306,000 posts.

Unofficial remixes happen all the time, with various artists and users creating their own takes on popular songs. Given the nature of a traditional remix, these often have an EDM or House-inspired spin. But what's fascinating about the revamped audio of Wallen's ‘Drinking Til It Does’ is that it's not at all like these usual remixes.

The change is only slight, with the song keeping the same instrumentation and tempo. The only difference is that the first and second half of the ‘Drinking Til It Does’ hook play alongside each other, creating a deeply satisfying polyphony effect. It's a snippet that scratches your brain in a way you didn't realise it needed scratching.

Then, after this meshed hook, the rest of the hook and a portion of the bridge plays out. The audio has become the soundtrack for a trend where users share images of them in the countryside, with a caption along the lines of, “When someone says they don't like country, but this is genuinely what's playing in my head nonstop”.

It's a refreshing trend, because ‘Drinking Til It Does’ has long been one of the most underrated gems on I'm the Problem, and we're just glad to see it getting the love it deserves.

Penned by Josh Thompson and Jimmy Robbins, it's a pared-down, intimate ode that finds Wallen showcasing his enchanting, evocative vocals across the keys-driven composition.

Wallen's 2026 Still the Problem Tour opener, Hudson Westbrook, shared his own take on ‘Drinking Til it Does’ in July, around a month before the clip started gaining momentum.

With Wallen continuing to tease his next chapter of music, which he's confirmed will revolve around his latest single, ‘Been By Now’, it seems he's venturing further into the pop-infused, synth-backed ambience of this track. Charlie Handsome, his go-to producer, even revealed in an interview earlier this year that he wants the Sneedville native to become more of a fixture on Pop Radio in the coming years.

But as Wallen does experiment and blur the lines between genres - something he has always done - we hope the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper always makes room on his albums for a couple of classic country ballads in the form of ‘Drinking Til It Does’.

Songs like these serve as reminders of why so many fans fell in love with Wallen's music in the first place, with all the frills stripped away, leaving little more than Wallen's captivating vocals and the aching sentiment he laces into them so powerfully.
