After teasing the track across his socials and during his live shows, Morgan Wallen has now confirmed the release date for his hotly anticipated new single, ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’. The addictive, heartbroken ballad is expected to be the lead single from the Sneedville singer-songwriter's forthcoming One Thing At A Time follow-up.
‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ will arrive on July 5th, the day after his UK BST Hyde Park festival show across The Pond. Originally, it was slated for a July 4th release, with Morgan announcing during his One Night At A Time tour-stop at Virginia Beach that ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ would be arriving on streaming platforms on Independence Day.
‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ has become a much-loved staple at the ‘Thought You Should Know’ hitmaker’s concerts of late, with Morgan Wallen dropping a stellar live version of the track as part of his widely acclaimed Abbey Road Sessions project in March.
Although Morgan Wallen is yet to officially announce his next studio album, he’s been sharing some studio shots, as well as teasing an array of unreleased tracks, including ‘Love Somebody’ and ‘I Guess’, both of which quickly went viral across TikTok.
Given the fact that Morgan Wallen will be performing in London for BST Hyde Park on July 4th, alongside Riley Green, Ella Langley and ERNEST, those heading to the blockbuster show will undoubtedly be looking forward to hearing the new single live.
The track finds the country megastar crooning balefully about his old flame, outlining all the reasons he’s not missing her, before peeling back his tough exterior and delivering the titular lyric in the sinuous hook, dismissing them all as ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’.
The sparse, brooding accompaniment allows Morgan to showcase his dexterous, charismatic vocals, with the stripped-back ambience of ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ and another fan-favourite unreleased track, ‘I Guess’, hinting that the new album will be pervaded by a more intricate, introspective atmosphere compared to beat-driven, record-smashing tracks such as ‘Last Night’ and ‘You Proof’.
