Update - Morgan Wallen has released a full version of ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ as part of his new Abbey Road Sessions project.

Morgan Wallen, ERNEST and HARDY teamed up for a special showcase at Nashville's Soho House, with the trio performing an array of hits they've co-written together.

Excitingly, during the intimate performance, Morgan Wallen delivered a surprise rendition of a brand new song, seemingly entitled ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’, which finds the Sneedville megastar crooning forlornly about how he can't resist the temptations of returning to a past lover, despite the fact that she continues to be dishonest to him.

Morgan sings alongside a gentle acoustic guitar and ethereal harmonies, “Ain't nothing but / Lies, lies lies / Look into my eyes, eyes, eyes / I'm still a fool for you / Nothing I wouldn't do for you / Lies, lies, lies / Girl, I'm on a downhill dive / Habits and hard heartbreaks / Are hard to break / So I just tell the same old / Lies, lies, lies”.

Given the beautifully sparse, intricate feel of ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’, it seems Morgan Wallen's upcoming album - which he'll start recording at the end of February - could explore a more acoustic feel compared to last year's One Thing At A Time.

The ‘Last Night’ hitmaker teased another unreleased fan-favourite earlier in 2024, ‘I Guess’, which is pervaded by a similarly stripped-back ambience. The track quickly went viral, with fans continuing to clamour for Morgan to release it as soon as possible.

By contrast, the Post Malone-assisted ‘I Had Some Help’ snippet, which Morgan shared towards the end of 2023 - and unexpectedly deleted soon after - featured heavier production and a pop-infused, uptempo beat. Bearing this in mind, perhaps the new album will again incorporate a blend of pop, indie rock, rap and country influences.

Elsewhere in the Soho House set, Morgan Wallen, ERNEST and HARDY joined forces for a crowd-pleasing performance of ‘More Than My Hometown’. The trio co-wrote the hit with Charlie Handsome, with the infectious track reaching No. 1 at Country Radio in 2020, before appearing on Morgan's acclaimed 2021 Dangerous album.

In addition HARDY played his much-loved, vulnerable 2019 ballad, ‘SIGNED, SOBER YOU’, while ERNEST treated the audience to a performance of his biggest song to date, ‘Flower Shops’, which he released back in 2021 as a duet with Morgan Wallen.

We don't yet have any word on a release date for ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’, but with Morgan back in Nashville and previously confirming he'll begin working on his next album this month, it seems we could be getting more teasers and snippets in the weeks to come.

If ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ receives a similarly positive reaction to ‘I Guess’, it could well end up being chosen as one of the lead singles for the project. However, given how popular the unreleased demo of ‘I Guess’ has proven in recent weeks, we imagine this will take priority, with Morgan's camp potentially planning to drop a sampler EP - as he did before One Thing At A Time - before he kicks off his 2024 tour in April.
