Megan Moroney has turned her Cloud 9 era into something you can drink.
The country singer has teamed up with Erewhon to createve the Easy Tiger Smoothie, a $22 limited edition drink inspired by her chart topping third studio album.
If you want to buy one, you're looking for ‘Liars, Tigers & Bears’ which combines almond milk, Greek yoghurt, creatine, cherries, peaches, pitaya, banana, cacao nibs and coconut cream. Its bright pink colour and dark tiger stripes have been designed to look like the Cloud 9 album campaign brought to life in a cup.
Erewhon has confirmed the collaboration supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping fund its work treating children with cancer and other diseases. The announcement does not specify how much from each sale will be donated.
It is not Moroney’s first time putting a commercial collaboration behind a cause. Her recent pink rhinestone Raising Cane’s tumbler raised money for the Megan Moroney Foundation, which supports a variety of mental health and anti-bullying initiatives.
And Erewhon is not simply a Los Angeles supermarket. It’s become known for it’s celebrity smoothies collaborating with artists and personalities including Hailey Bieber, Kacey Musgraves, Travis Scott and Tyla.
The smoothie’s name also plays into ‘Liars & Tigers & Bears’, one of the songs on the album. That consistency is not an accident. Before moving to Nashville, Moroney studied marketing at the University of Georgia and interned for Sugarland’s Kristian Bush. Bush later became the producer behind the records that made her famous.
Four years ago, people were only just discovering ‘Tennessee Orange’. Now one of Los Angeles’ most famous luxury stores is dressing a $22 smoothie in her album colours.
It might only be fruit in a cup, but it shows that people are no longer simply buying Megan Moroney’s music - they're also willing to buy into her overall brand and aesthetic.
